About Us
The Capones are Darren Wesemann on vocals and guitar, and Chris Davies on drums. A blues rock, 2-piece band from Red Deer, AB. Their unique sound, described as dirty, sleazy and grungy has worked its way through the indie rock and blues scene since 2013. Their two members, have been collaborating and creating their unmistakable sound, completing 3 full length albums so far. In December 2013 their self-released album ‘Troubled Me’ saw immediate success with their first released single ‘Old Tree’ on vinyl through the indie label GrimtaleRecords. Radio play and fan momentum from the success of ‘Old Tree’ inspired and set the foundation for their crowd funded second album, ‘Drop the Crown’, released on vinyl in 2015 with indie rock label, Fonoflo Records from Colorado. Their third album 'Headlights' is set to release on Ceramic J Records, home of The Capones' very own Darren Wesemann and Chris Davies.
The Capones play all over Alberta and Saskatchewan and have co-supported the Juno award winning band, Dead South. They have also supported other Juno winners such as Gob, the Real McKenzies and the recent winners of The Launch, Static Shift.
With 'Headlights' hitting the pavement in 2019, The Capones are always looking down the road. They're continuously evolving their grungy footprint on the indie rock and blues scene.
